About Lindsay Warner

I am an experienced professional journalist, with a strong background in the arts and a passion for uncovering interesting people, locations and events.

I currently work in the Communications department at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where I help write and publish many releases detailing the museum's upcoming exhibitions and general news. As a museum writer, I often work on long-term projects that require consistent and creative writing, but I also use my journalism background when creating news announcements or press releases for members of the media.

In addition to my work at the museum, I also maintain an active freelance career, contributing regular feature articles and photographs to the Philadelphia Inquirer and to the U.K.-based magazine Polo Times. My work at Polo Times has taken me to a variety of national and international destinations, including West Palm Beach, Fla., for the U.S. Open polo tournament, and Queensland, Australia, where I also contributed to International Polo Leisure & Lifestyle magazine. Most recently, I traveled to Big Horn, Wyoming, to research a travel article which will be published in the spring of 2010.

Until April 2009, I worked as the Arts & Culture Editor for The Bulletin daily newspaper in Philadelphia, where I managed the coverage of all aspects of the cultural sector, including art, dance, music, museums, theater and film. My duties as editor included managing and assigning articles to a 15-person freelance staff, editing and choosing content, working with my assistant editor to paginate the section and contributing my own articles on a near-daily basis. I also edited and created a weekly 16-page tabloid section previewing each weekend's cultural events, supplemented by a quarterly 24-page seasonal culture guide.

My interest in international travel has been fueled by several years spent living abroad; while obtaining my undergraduate degree from Kenyon College, I spent a semester at the University of Bristol, in Bristol, England, followed by two summers spent working as a polo groom in Gloucestershire, U.K. Upon graduation from Kenyon in 2005, I moved to New Zealand and then Australia, where I spent over a year working as a polo groom and writing for the Brisbane-based International Polo Leisure & Lifestyle magazine. I continue to expand my international travel experiences with occasional trips abroad when possible, though I have been based in Philadelphia since March 2007.
